Austria's First Bitcoin ATM at Coinfinity

Coinfinity, a Graz-based Bitcoin competence center, has been operating Austria’s first Bitcoin ATM since June 2014. It is a one-way Lamassu machine where Bitcoin can be purchased with EUR cash. Up to 150 EUR worth of BTC can be bought anonymously; for amounts over 150 EUR, a one-time customer identification is required.
The machine is accessible during Coinfinity’s opening hours, Monday through Friday from 10 AM to 1 PM and 2 PM to 5 PM. The Coinfinity team is happy to help with any questions about Bitcoin and wallet setup at any time.
The Bitcoin ATM has proven very popular and has generated extensive media coverage in Austria, while international Bitcoin news sites have also taken notice of the Graz office.

Media coverage:
- Der Standard: Austria’s first Bitcoin ATM installed
- Futurezone: Austria’s first Bitcoin ATM is in Graz
- CoinTelegraph: Coinfinity gives Austria first Bitcoin ATM
- CoinDesk: Austria offers contradictory guidance on Bitcoin’s financial status
- Salzburger Nachrichten (August 28, 2014)
Upgrading to a two-way version is quite expensive with Lamassu, as the costs come close to the original purchase price again. Other manufacturers’ ATMs, which offer two-way functionality out of the box, are therefore of particular interest.
Coinfinity is following market developments closely but is already working behind the scenes on Bitcoin projects that would make deploying new dedicated vending machines obsolete.
