We’re building the monument. You’re making it possible.
For the 15th anniversary of Bitcoin Austria (founded 2011), we are creating a permanent symbol for Bitcoin in Vienna. We are bringing one of only 21 artworks worldwide to our country — as a sign for an open, decentralized network.
The Project at a Glance
A circle closes: Vienna, the home of the Austrian School of Economics (Menger, Mises, Hayek), is the ideal place to make the principles of free money and competition physically visible.
- The landmark: “21 Nodes. A global network.” The statue is part of a worldwide installation of only 21 pieces (alongside locations like Lugano, El Zonte & New York).
- We are all Satoshi: The stainless steel artwork uses a special layering technique and appears either massive or transparent depending on the viewing angle. Stand behind it and you see your own reflection in the figure’s face — we are all part of the network.
- The location: Viertel Zwei, Wien (Q3 2026). Publicly accessible, right on the water, surrounded by innovation.

Become Part of History
We don’t want this to be co-opted by a single major sponsor. This landmark should be carried by many.

🟧 3x Matching Campaign — Results
Period: February 1 – March 6, 2026
Two long-time Bitcoiners agreed to triple every community donation during this period.
How it worked: You donate 100,000 sats → The OGs add 200,000 sats on top → The project receives 300,000 sats.
The rules: Applied to donations up to 1 million sats per transaction. The matching pool was capped at 0.21 BTC each.
Result: 0.067 BTC from the community, tripled to 0.202 BTC for the project. Both OGs have already paid in their share.
