No exchange. No investment advice. No sponsors. We exist so that more people understand Bitcoin, not so that someone can profit from it. Bitcoin Austria is nonprofit, volunteer-run, and funded by Bitcoin donations alone.

Bitcoin stands for a free monetary system: no one can be forced to use it, and no one can be banned from using it. We advance this principle through education, open-source advocacy, and dialogue with policymakers. A civil society voice, not an industry lobby.
Since block 137517
2011, a pub meetup in Vienna. The topic: a network almost nobody took seriously. The people at that table started an organization, nonprofit and volunteer-run. Since then: hundreds of events and a firm belief that Bitcoin needs factual education.

Bitcoin Only
We draw a strict line between the decentralized Bitcoin network and the speculative 'crypto' market. Bitcoin is the only decentralized digital money: no CEO, no marketing, no pre-mine. Everything else is a venture capital project.
Privacy is non-negotiable
Financial privacy is a right. Money that can expire or be restricted is not money. We reject programmable central bank currencies (CBDCs).
Education over advertising
Many want to sell you Bitcoin. We want you to understand it. We don't give investment advice. We explain technology and economics, including the inconvenient truths.
Economic self-determination
Bitcoin is more than a speculative asset. It is a tool for economic sovereignty, rooted in the Austrian School tradition: hard money that nobody can debase.
