Why “Bitcoin Only”?
We focus on Bitcoin as an open monetary network: self-custody, verifiable rules, and free software let people use it without a compulsory intermediary. We work to preserve these properties and help people use them. They guide our education, software development, and policy work.
Is Bitcoin Austria political?
We are non-partisan, but not apolitical. Bitcoin Austria is not affiliated with any party. We take clear positions on political issues that affect Bitcoin.
Do you receive money from crypto exchanges?
Not for our work as an association. We fund our education and software development without sponsorships, advertising or government grants. We are not the mouthpiece of any industry or exchange.
The Satoshi statue in Vienna is separate: a public art project, funded through a donation campaign supported by more than 120 individuals and several businesses.
