Lightning Protocol Spec Meeting 2026

About the Spec Meeting #

The Lightning Protocol Specification Meeting takes place approximately every 18 months and brings together core developers of the major Lightning implementations. The goal is the collaborative advancement of the BOLTs (Basis of Lightning Technology) and the resolution of open protocol questions.

Bitcoin Austria supports the organization of this year’s meeting in Vienna.

The Spec Meeting is not open to the public. Participants are protocol developers and contributors to the Lightning specification.
